Finally a new post. Well, what can I say, I been busy: Melle Mel returned from her wanderings, we've been searching for a new place to live, work has been actually busy. And, of course, there have been all those Sopranos episodes to watch. Last Sunday, we went over to Michael A.'s place to watch the first episode of the brand new season on HBO. After watching previous episodes on DVD, long after their initial airing, watching the season opener live (as it were) felt momentous. We were joining millions and millions of Americans in a collective moment that has been, apparently, long-awaited (it's been a year and a half since the last episode aired). The next day, I briefly hung around the water cooler, hoping to replicate the experience going on around water coolers nationwide: the discussion of the previous night's television excitement. But I guess scientists trying to cure cancer have better things to do than watch TV because no one seemed to have seen it.
