Made it back in one piece from San Francisco last night after attending a historic meeting of members of the SF-SEA-BOS Axis of Blog Evil. All in all a smashing visit. I managed to remain in a rapturous state of drunkenness for most of the time, so I hereby apologize to anyone whom, in my inebriated states, I may have offended/antagonized/vomited on. (Ok, this is bravado on my part as, truth to tell, I was very docile the whole time...right??)
In related news, the other Mike G. met me at the airport and we promptly headed off to go gambling. Not, you may be surprised to learn at the Drift - we were planning to go there but, driving around Seatac trying to find the freeway on-ramp, we stumbled across Funsters which, as the other Mike G. so aptly put it, is sort of a cross between Chuck E. Cheese and a casino. The most annoying thing was the dealers' insistence (presumably encouraged by management) to be "fun" in a Tom Cruise-in-Cocktail kind of way -- they couldn't just flip over the cards, oh no, they had to try and be all flash and make your card fall just so which inevitably took longer than it should have and was especially annoying when the card ended up breaking you. However, I did walk away up $300, so the hex may be lifted. The thought that in order to have good luck I have to return to Funsters, though, may work to keep me away from the cardrooms. (Oh, who am I kidding?)
Anyway, shout outs to A & B for hosting us, JG & JN for giving us a reason to be there, and NEAakaFucker for driving me to the airport without whining about it. Much.
