I welcome all your comments, really I do. But as witty and compelling as they may be, few of them might be considered poetry. Not so the case with yesterday's anonymous comment #3 here. This truly is a comment worthy of a close textual analysis. An epic, a prose poem denouncing gods, artificial reproduction, non-whites and homosexuality (I think), it made me consider for a moment that Michel Houellebecq was looking at my blog. Lots of good stuff in there and it builds to a nice fever pitch:
Artificial positioning.
Artificial theater.

Artificial mother.
Artificial divorce.

Artificial pleasure.
Artificial pain.
Artificial power.
Artificial god.
Artificial failure.

Fuck you for forcing your will even in this macro situation.
Fuck you for CHEATING in the face of a clue such as Lake Michigan.
Fuck you for lying in the Bible.
Fuck you for maximizing the damage you inflicted with boss while minimizing the disfavored's help away during 2006.

Comments:
I, for one, am happy that somebody is finally speaking up about the role the Oakland A's are playing in the coming apocalypse:

"3. Used Oakland A's to send a clue (dynasty, win only in crisis, chokers), and to deliver the desired message they inflicted the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989 (FOR YEARS there have been very few blacks on this team)."

'Bout time somebody called them on this.

hey, I got that comment too. truly epic.

And so did I -- I took the trouble to delete it, in case my case worker got hold of it, imagined its lively deliberations to be mine, and had me recommitted. I wonder if everyone in the Land of Blog got it, as the result of some massive conspiracy, or one fashioned by a lesser MLB franchise.
