Well, unless I can figure out how to blog from my mother-in-law's cellphone, this is going to be the last post until at least Monday. I'm leaving work at noon to spend some final alone time with MM--a lazy lakeside afternoon then out for dinner. Kind of feels like I'm getting ready to go off to jail. We'll be at the birthing center for two nights following the birth, giving us plenty of time to bond with the new baby and, more importantly, watch the first two seasons of The O.C.
Anyhoo, it's still a tossup at this point whether we're having a boy or a girl. So here's your last chance to place your bets.

Last summer I went to get an x-ray and in the radiology waiting room was a kid with his mom, waiting while his aunt got a pre-natal ultrasound.
Mom: So, do you think Aunt Lisa is having a boy or a girl?
Kid (excited): Maybe it'll be a puppy!
So, I'm voting puppy.

Induce on the 13th!!! Woohoo...the baby is definitely getting born on my birthday.
And she's going to be a girl named Patrick!

Is anyone else out there checking this blog today, even though the probability of an update is mighty slim?
Maybe we could think of K's comment section as a cyber-waiting room of sorts, where we get to keep each other company in the excitement with small talk and other comforts.
I was just reading about different types of non-biological gender social formations-- here's one I found interesting: the Yuma had a tradition of gender assignation based on the kinds of dreams a person had. Interesting, no?
If only we had a cyber-vending machine, I'd get us all some nuts or candy for the wait.

Hey Cricket! I've been checking in every 20 minutes - insane but I can't help it!! It's so exciting! Wish we could somehow be in touch with those guys... just know where things are at. Has it... "happened" yet? Are they all ok? What's goin' on????????/
Yeah, me too. I mean I don't want the baby to be born for another 10 hours or so -- cause I want to have the same birthday, but I agree -- this is totally a cyber waiting room.
Your birthday's on Bastille Day! I'd forgotten that! Joyeux anniversaire big guy!!!! How the hell are you anyway? How's married life treatin' ya?
Yeah I just found out about Nat and Theo as well!
Married life is wonderful and things are going great out here. I wish I could see y'all more often but Seattle remains fun.
And these comments are turning into a chat room. I like it.
I think we should hijack Korak's blog and make it our own personal chat forum.

We're experiencing the same excitement here on Planet Filbert. This must be the most anticipated baby since Brad & Angelina's!
Mike or Natalie are supposed to call me and I'll be e-mailing y'all as soon as I have the news. So check your inbox! Last night I predicted a girl on the 14th at 10:45 a.m. EDT. I think I'm sticking w/that ...

Just got back from Larin's company work picnic where I was able to kill a few hours of waiting time. It's beautiful here in the Northeast-- if Sprout arrives today we've gotta remember to tell her/him s/he was born on a perfect summer day.
Okay, here's my bet: 11:22 tonight.
Wish we could play some cards here in the waiting room.

Wow. I was so convinced all along it was a boy... now I'm not sure any more. I say tomorrow morning July 14 at 7:52 AM... Bastille Day baby called Revolution! Now that would be cool. God this IS turning into a chat room. We're heading up north tonight... no email up there. Anzo can you send me a text if there's news!
by the way, did everyone get this already?
