I've survived Day One of the course I'm teaching this term. Actually, today was technically the third day of class, but my first time meeting them because of last week's interviews. Here's the syllabus, if you're curious.

I've been missing lots around here while away, or generally consumed. Our graduate student employee union finally (after a 4-year campaign, which CK, LM, and I all worked hard on -- in fact our friendships solidified on the picket line), won union status at the UW. Excellent. Only wish I didn't miss the celebration party.

The youngest of our clan has said one of the smartest statements on gay marriage I've read. Painkiller is re-emerging. Oh, Ron's back on the blog, with a snazzy new name and color scheme (and no more of that MM memorabilia, thankgawd).
