Two brief items.

Happy Pesach to all you Jewcies out there. Korak's hosting our Seder tomorrow.

And -- I'm not sure what I want to say about this one right now, except that I want to honor him . . . A simple note of respect and regret for a friend who recently died after a sudden diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Jim was a lovely, inspiring man, and I only wish I knew him better. I worked for him in the Comparative History of Ideas program at the UW, one of the best teaching experiences I had in graduate school. He was barely 47 years old.
